How do tourist routes respond to consumer demand?
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is one of the national spatial development strategies. With the completion of a series of important infrastructures such as the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor, the convenience of cross-city transportation within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has been significantly improved. At the same time, these major infrastructures also contain high tourism value and provide a good foundation for the development of cultural tourism economy. At the end of November 2024, the new Zhongshan Port located in Cuiheng New District was opened. Zhongshan Port, which guarded the fortress, ushered in new development opportunities. Against the backdrop of a series of overlapping favorable factors, Zhongshan Port plans to launch a maritime sightseeing route, and hopes to use the power of a third-party consulting agency to conduct feasibility studies on the route and reduce the risk of project failure.
Our research programmes are divided into three parts: competitive expert interviews, quantitative questionnaire research and qualitative research.
01 Through interviews with competition-based in-house experts to understand the current state of operation of existing cruise-line products, pricing thinking, future development planning

(Producer of the project ' s client composition through competition)
02 Qualitative interviews to map typical short-distance vacation scenarios and needs and to detect consumer interest and expectations for new routes

(Excavation of demand)
03 Quantification of consumer tourist behaviour through quantitative analysis and testing of the acceptance of the target consumer for pricing new route products

(U&A quantified)
The successful delivery of this project has helped Zhongshan Port gain a more detailed understanding of the needs and expectations of cultural tourists in the Greater Bay Area, and have a certain degree of grasp of the operating status and future trends of similar products, thereby better providing constructive input for the development of new sightseeing route products.
