SKINTIFIC | What is the wind of the "carry economy" in Southeast Asia?

For Chinese companies that have or are planning to "go overseas", Southeast Asia is one of the target markets. Similar to the Chinese market, Southeast Asia is also defined as an emerging market. Compared with China, which already ranks second in the world in terms of economic aggregate, the Southeast Asian market still has great development potential. However, although they are both in Asia, the geography, society, and humanities of Southeast Asia are quite different from China. The brand plans to expand into the Southeast Asian market and hopes to use appropriate research methods to understand local user needs, provide ideas for product development directions, and reduce the "trial and error" cost of new product development.

Based on the core needs of SKINTIFIC, our approach is to capture the beauty category sales data and user reviews of mainstream e-commerce platforms such as TikTok and Shopee, and analyze the "appearance economy" trend in the Southeast Asian market (Vietnam, Indonesia) from a quantitative and qualitative perspective.
